Cut lists for whole jobs

CabinetOS works out every part from the units you draw (wardrobes, closets, cabinets), lays out the sheets, prices the job and sends your cutting company their Excel file and CNC files.

Questions

How does the cut list optimizer work?

It tries thousands of ways to place your parts on the fewest sheets, using straight-through cuts a panel saw or track saw can make, and allows for the saw blade and the trim off each edge. When two layouts use the same number of sheets, it keeps the one with same-size parts next to each other, so you set the fence once.

Can I use inches?

Yes. Switch to in at the top of the tool. Type 23 3/4, 23-3/4, 23.75 or 1' 11 3/4". The usual sheet is 4 × 8 ft (48" × 96"); pick 4 × 10 ft or type your own.

What is kerf, and what should I set?

Kerf is the width the saw blade turns to dust on every cut. Most panel saw and table saw blades take about 3 mm (1/8"); a track saw a little less. Set it a touch bigger rather than smaller.

Is it really free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Nothing is saved: when you leave the page, the list goes. To save jobs, get edge banding lengths, an Excel file for your cutting company or CNC files, use CabinetOS.
