Back and plinth
Fit an 18 mm back inside the box, 964 × 1964, flush with the back edges. Put a 100 mm plinth under the box, 1000 long, flush with the front.
Do it here, step by step
The model is ready below, with SketchUp's own tools and keys. Watch a step beside it, then do it in the model: each step ticks itself, and Check my work measures every board to the millimetre. No download, no account.
Follows the model you're drawing: each step ticks itself once it's done.
Press Set up the model. The box from exercise 1 is there, locked so it can't move.
You should see: The box 100 off the floor, against the wall.
RectangleR Hover over the front-left corner of the box, then move straight down to the floor: a dotted line on the blue axis shows you're right under it. Click there and type
1000,18Enter. Push/PullP Pull it up and type100Enter. SelectSpace Triple-click it, press G and name it Plinth. You should see: A strip under the front of the box, flush with its front.
RectangleR On top of the bottom, click the inside corner at the back left, where the left side meets it. Move right and towards the front, type
964,18Enter. Push/PullP Pull it up and type1964Enter. SelectSpace Triple-click it, press G and name it Back. You should see: A back between the sides, the top and the bottom, flush with their back edges.
Press Check my work.
You should see: 2 of 2 right.

What you draw
- Plinth1000 × 100 × 18
Why that size: 1000 long, 100 high, 18 thick.
Where it goes: Under the bottom, its front flush with the front of the box.
- Back1964 × 964 × 18
Why that size: 1000 − 18 − 18 sides = 964 wide, as high as a side: 1964.
Where it goes: Between the sides, the top and the bottom, flush with their back edges.
Stuck? A hint
The plinth starts right under the box's front-left corner: hover the corner, then move down. The back fits between the sides, so it's 1000 − 18 − 18 = 964 wide, and as high as a side: 1964. Can't see the corner at the back? View › Face Style › X-ray.
What Check my work looks at
- Each board is its own component, not a group or loose faces.
- Each board is the size CabinetOS would cut it, to 1 mm.
- Each board is in its place, to 1 mm.
- Nothing missing, nothing extra.
When something's wrong it says which board and why, for example that a board is 21 thick instead of 18, or 3 mm too far left. Show it selects that board in your model.
