Shelves that fit
Two shelves, 960 × 580: 2 mm in from each side so they slide in, 2 mm back from the front, touching the back. Tops at 1300 and 1700 from the floor.
Do it here, step by step
The model is ready below, with SketchUp's own tools and keys. Watch a step beside it, then do it in the model: each step ticks itself, and Check my work measures every board to the millimetre. No download, no account.
Follows the model you're drawing: each step ticks itself once it's done.
Press Set up the model. The box, back and plinth are there, locked.
You should see: The wardrobe without its shelves.
RectangleR On top of the bottom, click the inside corner at the back left, where the left side and the back meet it. Move right and towards the front, type

What you draw
- Lower shelf960 × 580 × 18
Why that size: 964 inside − 2 − 2 = 960 wide; 600 − 18 back − 2 at the front = 580 deep.
Where it goes: 2 in from each side, 2 back from the front, touching the back, its top 1300 from the floor.
- Upper shelf960 × 580 × 18
Why that size: The same as the lower shelf: 960 × 580.
Where it goes: Right above the lower one, its top 1700 from the floor (400 higher).
Stuck? A hint
Inside the box is 1000 − 18 − 18 = 964, and the shelf is 2 shorter at each end so it slides in: 960. It's 600 − 18 back − 2 at the front = 580 deep. Drawn on the bottom its top is at 100 + 18 + 18 = 136, so it goes up 1300 − 136 = 1164.
What Check my work looks at
- Each board is its own component, not a group or loose faces.
- Each board is the size CabinetOS would cut it, to 1 mm.
- Each board is in its place, to 1 mm.
- Nothing missing, nothing extra.
When something's wrong it says which board and why, for example that a board is 21 thick instead of 18, or 3 mm too far left. Show it selects that board in your model.
